At JB Property Law, we believe that great client service starts with great people. That's why we're delighted to introduce Aimee, who recently joined us as a Consultant Property Lawyer. After her first month with the business, we caught up with her to learn more about her journey into property law, what attracted her to JB Property Law, and her ambitions for the future.

Settling In
1. You've now been with JB Property Law for a month – how has your first month been?
It’s flown by! I’ve really enjoyed getting to grips with everything and settling into the consultancy model. It’s been busy, in a good way, and I’ve felt very welcomed.
2. What has been the highlight of your first few weeks with the team?
Joanne has been incredibly supportive and approachable, it makes a huge difference when starting somewhere new!
3. Is there anything that has surprised you about working at JB Property Law?
How collaborative it is. Consultancy can sometimes sound quite independent, but there’s a real team spirit and a willingness to help each other out.
4. What has helped you settle in most quickly?
Having direct access to such experienced people and knowing that no question is a stupid question!
Why Property Law?
5. What attracted you to a career in property law?
I love that no two transactions are the same. It’s a big mix of problem solving, people skills and helping clients through one of the biggest milestones in their lives.
6. What made you decide to join JB Property Law?
What stood out to me was the people and the brand. I love that JB Property Law has a clear identity and passion for helping clients, particularly through Joanne’s work supporting Armed Forces personnel. It gives a real personal touch to the process. Alongside that, the supportive culture and flexibility of the consultancy model made it feel like a great fit for both my clients and long term career goals.
7. How does working in consultancy fit with your career aspirations?
It allows me to build strong relationships with clients and introducers while maintaining the flexibility to develop my own personal brand and way of working. It also allows me to have a much better work-life balance, giving me more time to study and deepen my knowledge of property law.
Looking Ahead
8. What skills are you hoping to strengthen during your time with JB Property Law?
Business development and refinement of my technical knowledge.
9. Where would you like to see yourself professionally in five years' time?
I would like to have built a thriving client base with a strong reputation for service, communication and client care.
10. As someone new to the business, is there anything you've spotted that we could improve or develop further?
Nothing immediately springs to mind. I've only been here a short time, but I've been impressed by how smoothly things run and how approachable everyone has been. I'm looking forward to learning more as I settle in.
11. Is there anything about the business that you've found particularly refreshing?
The level of trust given to consultants. There is a real focus on outcomes and client service rather than any form of micromanagement.
The JB Property Law Experience
12. How would you describe the culture at JB Property Law in three words? Supportive, collaborative and ambitious.
13. What's one thing prospective consultants should know about working here?
You will genuinely feel like you are part of a team while still having the autonomy to run your own mini-business in a way that works for you.
Quick Fire Round
Tea or coffee? Coffee
Early bird or night owl? Night owl
What's your go-to productivity hack? If it can be done in under 10 minutes, do it straight away!
If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be? Fluency in another language
What's something people are often surprised to learn about you? I am obsessed with space, aviation and NASA
If you weren't working in property law, what do you think you'd be doing? In another life, I’d be a pilot. It’s always fascinated me!
What's one item you can't work without? My notebook. I love technology but there is still something very satisfying about manually crossing off a to-do list with a pen.
A Fun Finish
14. If JB Property Law had a company talent show, what would your act be?
I would probably dust off one of my instruments and perform a song. It’s been a while, but I would give it a go!
15. What's one thing still on your bucket list?
Seeing the northern lights!
16. If you could have dinner with anyone, living or historical, who would it be and why?
Sally Ride – the first American woman in space! She broke barriers, challenged expectations and achieved something amazing.
17. What's the best piece of career advice you've ever received?
People remember how you make them feel long after they’ve forgotten what you’ve said, especially in a client facing profession.
We couldn't agree more with this last one! It's a philosophy that sits at the heart of everything we do at JB Property Law, and we're delighted to have Aimee as part of the team. Welcome aboard, Aimee!
