Supporting the Armed Forces Community
JB Property Law, supporting the Armed Forces community isn't a marketing campaign. It's part of who we are.

Our founder, Joanne Bowmer, is married to an Army veteran, and together they have experienced many of the realities of military life. From deployments and long periods apart to, uncertainty and the unique challenges faced by service families.

That lived experience has shaped not only the specialist legal services we provide but also our commitment to giving something back to the community that has given so much.

Our support extends far beyond conveyancing.

It is a commitment to championing serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families whenever and wherever we can.
SSAFA Volunteer
Joanne is proud to volunteer with SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, supporting members of the military community who need advice, guidance and practical assistance.

Volunteering provides another opportunity to give back and reinforces our belief that supporting the Armed Forces should never begin and end with legal services.

Pride in Veterans Standard
JB Property Law is proud to support the Pride in Veterans Standard, recognising that the Armed Forces community is wonderfully diverse and that every veteran deserves to feel respected, valued and able to access support without fear of discrimination.

By sharing information, promoting the work of the Pride in Veterans campaign and championing inclusion within the wider Armed Forces community, we hope to play a small part in creating a future where every veteran knows they belong.

Supporters of the Duke of Lancaster's Regimental Charity
Supporting the Regimental family remains incredibly important to us.

JB Property Law proudly supports the Duke of Lancaster's Regimental Charity and will continue making charitable donations to help the charity provide assistance to serving soldiers, veterans and their families.

Whenever possible, Joanne and Ashley also attend military remembrance services, regimental events and commemorations.

Not as representatives of a business. But as a veteran and his wife paying their respects to friends, colleagues and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Covenant
JB Property Law is proud to be both an Armed Forces Covenant Signatory and a Veteran Aware organisation.

These commitments reflect our promise to recognise the contribution made by those who serve or have served, and to ensure they are treated fairly, respectfully and without disadvantage.

Beyond the CV
One of our proudest initiatives is Beyond the CV.

Created by JB Property Law, the campaign challenges employers to look beyond employment gaps, frequent relocations and unconventional career paths particularly those experienced by military spouses.

Military spouses develop remarkable resilience, adaptability, leadership and problem-solving skills, yet these qualities are too often overlooked during recruitment.

Beyond the CV encourages employers to recognise potential rather than assumptions, creating opportunities for talented individuals whose careers have been shaped by service life rather than limited by it.

For us, this isn't simply a campaign. It's a commitment to changing perceptions and opening doors.

Mentoring the Next Generation
Joanne is also a GROW Mentor, supporting aspiring legal professionals and helping individuals understand that there is no single route into a successful legal career.

As someone who began her own career as an office junior before progressing to Consultant Property Lawyer and business owner, Joanne is passionate about opening doors for others and encouraging people from all backgrounds to pursue careers within the legal profession.

Helping Businesses Make a Meaningful Difference
Supporting the Armed Forces community doesn't have to start and end with displaying a poppy once a year.

While campaigns such as Remembrance are incredibly important, there are countless opportunities throughout the year for businesses to make a genuine and lasting impact on the lives of serving personnel, veterans and military families.

At JB Property Law, we're passionate about helping other organisations understand how they can support the Armed Forces community in meaningful, practical ways.

Whether that's:

-
Becoming a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant.
-
Developing Armed Forces-friendly recruitment practices.
-
Creating opportunities for military spouses and veterans.
-
Building relationships with local military charities.
-
Supporting community events and remembrance activities.
-
Fundraising for Armed Forces charities.
-
Learning about the unique challenges faced by service families.
-
Creating partnerships that deliver real, lasting change.

We're always happy to share our experiences and connect businesses with the organisations, charities and initiatives that are already making an incredible difference.

There is no cost. No consultancy fee. No catch.

If your business wants to make a genuine impact within the Armed Forces community but isn't quite sure where to begin, we'd be delighted to have a conversation.

Together, we can move beyond symbolic support and create opportunities that genuinely improve lives.
