More Than a Mountain: How Our Armed Forces Community Came Together to Raise £570
One mountain. A group of incredible women. An entire community behind them. And £570 going straight back to the Regiment.
We are delighted to announce that £570 has today been sent to The Duke of Lancaster's Regimental Charity, following Joanne Bowmer's climb up Pen y Fan in Wales alongside the wonderful women of Forces Wives Challenge.
But before we go any further, there's something we want to make very clear. This isn't a story about a law firm making a charitable donation. It's a story about what happens when a community comes together.
It's about the people who sponsored the climb, shared the fundraising appeals, sent messages of encouragement and contributed whatever they could. Because while it might have been Joanne and the other ladies putting one foot in front of the other on Pen y Fan, there were an awful lot of people helping them reach the top.
And every single one of them deserves recognition.

Why the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment?
For Joanne, supporting the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment is deeply personal. Her husband, Ashley, served for ten years as a Kingsman with the 4th Battalion, Duke of Lancaster's Regiment, including operational service in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Being part of a military family means understanding that service doesn't just affect the person wearing the uniform. It affects the wives, husbands, partners, children, parents and wider families who stand alongside them.
It means missed birthdays, deployments, long separations, unexpected changes of plan and learning to make a life around a profession that doesn't always operate to a predictable timetable.
But it also means friendships, loyalty, humour, resilience and a sense of belonging that doesn't simply disappear when someone leaves the Armed Forces.
You might leave the Army, but the Army doesn't necessarily leave you.
And for Joanne and Ashley, the Regiment will always be part of their family's story.
Supporting its Regimental Charity is one small way of giving something back to a community that has given their family so much.
Pen y Fan: More Than Just a Walk
On 26 September 2026, Joanne joined the ladies from Forces Wives Challenge to tackle Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons.
On paper, it was a mountain climb. In reality, it represented something much bigger.
Women brought together by their connections to military life, supporting one another, sharing experiences and raising money for a cause close to their hearts. Military spouses and partners are often the people keeping everything going behind the scenes.
They're the ones navigating deployments, relocations, interrupted careers, childcare challenges and the everyday realities of life alongside the Armed Forces.
And yet their contribution can sometimes be overlooked.
That's one of the reasons initiatives such as Forces Wives Challenge matter. They bring people together, create friendships and remind military families that they're part of something bigger.
Sometimes the greatest thing a community can offer isn't money or practical assistance. It's simply knowing that someone else understands.
£570 Raised — But This Achievement Belongs to Everyone
We are incredibly proud that £570 has now been passed to the Duke of Lancaster's Regimental Charity.
But we don't want to present this as JB Property Law making a donation and giving itself a pat on the back. Because that's not what happened. What happened was something much more meaningful.
People came together.
Some sponsored Joanne. Others shared her fundraising posts. Some offered words of encouragement. Others donated because they had their own connection to the Regiment or simply wanted to support the Armed Forces community.
And together, those individual acts of kindness became £570.
Every donation mattered. Every share mattered. Every message of encouragement mattered.
This is what community looks like. Not one person or one business taking credit. But lots of people doing a little bit each and collectively making a difference.
Supporting the Armed Forces Community Means More Than Conveyancing
At JB Property Law, our connection to the Armed Forces isn't something we adopted as a marketing strategy. It's part of who we are.
Joanne has experienced military life as a girlfriend, a wife, a mother and now the wife of a veteran. Our team includes military spouses and partners who understand first-hand the challenges that come with service life.
When we say we understand the pressures of a posting, a deployment or a last-minute change of plans, that understanding comes from lived experience.
And when we say to the Armed Forces community, "We've got your 6," we mean it.
Not just when someone needs help buying their first home using Forces Help to Buy. Not just when a family is relocating because of a new posting. And not just when there's a legal matter to deal with.
We mean supporting military families, championing military spouses and partners, recognising veterans, celebrating serving personnel and doing what we can to support the organisations and charities that look after our community.
Because being genuinely Armed Forces friendly should never begin and end with a discount on legal fees.
It's about what you do when there's no legal work involved at all.
To every person who donated, shared, encouraged or supported the Pen y Fan challenge, thank you. To the incredible ladies at Forces Wives Challenge, thank you for bringing women together and creating opportunities for connection, friendship and support. And to the wider Armed Forces community, thank you for continuing to demonstrate what it means to look after your own.
The £570 may have been sent today, but the generosity, encouragement and sense of community behind it deserve to be celebrated for much longer.
This achievement doesn't belong to one person.
It doesn't belong to a law firm.
It belongs to every single person who helped make it happen.
And there seems no more fitting way to finish than with the motto of the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.
NEC ASPERA TERRENT.
Difficulties be damned.
